Have the good days of new energy come to an end

Hey guys, the good days for new energy vehicles are coming to an end! If this policy is implemented, we might see a new round of price wars between gasoline and electric cars! Recently, Secretary-General of the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers, Cui Dongshu, proposed merging the blue and green license plates, and many people might not fully understand the connection. What does this have to do with the "privileges" of new energy vehicles?
In simple terms, thanks to government support, new energy vehicles have rapidly grown in recent years. Their market share has surged from less than 5% in 2018 to 25% in 2022. But as more electric cars hit the roads, problems are starting to surface! Currently, there’s an unfair policy between gasoline and electric cars. Gasoline cars have to pay for license plates and road maintenance fees, while new energy vehicles enjoy tax exemptions and priority registration—essentially, "gasoline cars are supporting electric cars."
But once the blue and green plates are merged, electric vehicles will lose these advantages. So what does that mean? Electric cars will directly compete with gasoline vehicles, and the price war will become even fiercer. Poorly selling electric vehicles might get淘汰 (eliminated), and the price war will continue!
So, guys, time is running out for new energy vehicle companies—now's the time to seize the opportunity!
